Music Video
The Been Caught Stealing video, directed by Casey Niccoli, is arguably Jane's Addiction's most popular music video, in terms of airplay. It features the band at a grocery store, and a man in drag wearing a belly pouch to make him appear pregnant. During the video he shoplifts a number of objects by inserting them into his belly pouch. The grocery store that this video was filmed at has since been demolished.
This music video won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Alternative Video in 1991. This was the inaugural year for this award. Casey and Dave Navarro accepted the award. Both were drunk at the time, and during the acceptance speech, Dave kissed Casey.

Been Caught Stealing ranked #1 on Billboard magazine's Modern Rock chart the weeks of 10/27/90, 11/24/90, 12/1/90, 12/8/90.
