Marriage
Dave has been married a total of three times, although only two are legally recognized.
- His first marriage was to Tania Goddard. Dave and Tania were married in a non-legal pagan hand-fasting ceremony in 1990. The couple also got matching palm tattoos of a marriage symbol. They split up a short time later.
- Dave's second, and first legally recognized marriage was to Rhian Gittins. Dave and Rhian were married in Las Vegas, NV on October 15, 1994 and divorced less than six months later. Dave wrote the Rhimorse album in response to this painful, failed marriage.
- Dave's third and most recent marriage was to Carmen Electra. Dave and Carmen were married on November 22, 2003. Their wedding preparation and ceremony were the subject of the MTV reality television series 'Til Death Do Us Part. On July 17, 2006, Dave and Carmen announced they were separated, Carmen filed for divorce on August 8, 2006. The divorce was finalized in early 2007.
The Murder of Dave's Mother
Dave's mother, Connie Navarro and aunt, Susan Jory, were murdered on March 3, 1983 by John Riccardi, an ex-boyfriend of Connie's, after he broke into her apartment. Riccardi went on the run and remained a fugitive for nearly eight years until he was finally captured in Houston, TX on January 4, 1991. Riccardi's capture came after the third time the case was profiled by the Fox television series America's Most Wanted. [1]
Dave was supposed to be staying with his mother the day she was murdered, but instead stayed with his father. Dave believes he too would have been murdered had he stayed with his mother that night. John Riccardi was finally put on trial for the double murder in 1994. Riccardi was found guilty and sentenced to death. He is currently awaiting his execution in San Quentin State Penitentiary in California. Dave was a witness at both the 1994 trial and a 1999 appeal. Dave is extremely grateful to AMW and the assistance they provided in brining his mother's killer to justice. [2]
