Spread was a side project of Dave Navarro and Chad Smith while Dave was in the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The duo recorded demos for a full album, titled Unicorns and Rainbows: The Pelican, which included most of the material Dave recorded for his Rhimorse album, but it too was never released. Most of the songs for the failed Spread album ended up on Dave's solo album Trust No One, however the versions were heavily reworked. Both the Rhimorse and Spread demos have been leaked and, in the eyes of many fans, superior to the versions found on Dave's solo release.
