Steve Perkins (b. Stephen Andrew Perkins, September 13, 1967, Los Angeles, CA) is the best-known drummer for Jane's Addiction, even though he was not the band's first. Steve is presently involved with The Panic Channel with fellow Jane's Addiction members Dave Navarro and Chris Chaney. Steve also worked with Perry Farrell on Porno For Pyros and also presently leads his own band Banyan. Steve also occasionally plays with fellow Porno guitarist Peter DiStefano and guest Porno bassists Mike Watt in the band Hellride.

Steve had an older brother, Marc Leslie Perkins, who died on May 26, 1993 - less than two months before Marc's 29th birthday. Marc died from a heart condition called Cardiomyopathy. Steve credits his older brother for encouraging his musical ambitions.

Stephen Perkins married his longtime girlfriend Cindy Juarez in early 2000. Cindy can be seen briefly in the Three Days movie. She performs with Steve on the song Release that appears on the ProMark Collectors Edition Vol. 1 compilation as well as on some of Banyan's albums.
